Arnaud Soubeyran: Arnaud Soubeyran is a confectioner based in Provence specialising in nougat, almonds and marshmallows.
Nougat – a traditional Christmas treat available in both hard and soft varieties. $20 per bag.
Chocolate coated almonds – available in dark, milk and white chocolate coating. $20 per bag.
Marshmallow sticks – a favourite for children and adults, $12 for 5 assorted flavours.
: These little sweets are France’s oldest commercial product made since 1591 in an ancient abbey in the village of Flavigny where the film Chocolat was filmed. In delightfully decorated tins, these are great to have in the car, in your handbag or to give as a gift. There are many flavours to choose from including traditional Aniseed, Cinnamon, Violet, Orange Blossom, Mint, Tangerine, Rose and Blackcurrant, with several of the flavours being organic. Small tins cost $6.95 or $7.95 for the organic varieties. Large tins of the traditional aniseed flavour are available for $25.
